This b/w photo of a Biturbo SE (USA version) is from a Maserati Automobiles Incorporated press release for 1985: note the similarity to the Italian Biturbo S save for the NACA vents on the bonnet. This model was available in red or silver from roof to beltline and anthracite grey from the beltline down, and only 200 were to be imported into the US in the 1985 model year.

In July 1983, a limited production sportier 'S' version was added to the 'Biturbo range. Again limited to the Italian market, this model was distinguishable by its two-tone colour scheme (metallic silver or red but always grey below the belt-line), twin NACA vents on the bonnet, bronze coloured metal trim, and new radiator grille, redesigned 14-inch alloys and an interior now finished in a 'Missioni' designed velour.

To emphasise the sports theme, the 'Biturbo S' was powered by a tuned engine producing 205bhp at 6500 rpm, thanks largely to its twin intercoolers. Suspension was lowered and uprated with wider tyres to give a firmer ride.
