"Enrico,

Attached are the photos of my car after its plastic surgery.

Although there are still a few minor cosmetic improvements to be made (such as tightening fog-light covers), the appearance is now 95% complete.

It would be fairly easy to revert to standard appearance, since all the lights are still original and they just have covers fitted over them. The headlight covers are not too different from those found on a Shamal.

All the people who thought it looked like a shed now think it looks brilliant. The lady who claimed it reminded her of a Lada also now likes the appearance.

I'm currently having the rear-wing legs replaced to lower it. Now the front looks good I'm starting to focus on the back.

The central "MASERATI" text was supplied by David Askew.

Thanks,

Simon."

The PRE - INTERNATIONAL Maserati Classic 2004

GRAND HOTEL SOPHIA COUNTRY CLUB, SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS

14th to 17th September 2004.

Dear Friends,

The Rally program has three truly diversified sections of which two will be presented during the first day and the third one on the next day. They cater to the desires of most enthousiasts:

"Les Astuces du Loup" will engage both navigator and driver “full time” and those with good eyes and an alert mind might have a slight advantage!

"Le Handicap Mythique" is a rather precise navigating job which require a number of decisions to be taken by driver and navigator together even before the start of the Rally ....

Part of the Roadbook will be handed on arrival to make next days event less "mythique" !

"Les Serpents du Verdon" is a scenic drive through the wildest region of the Var but the Rally aspect will keep the teams busy. The timekeeping is more important in this event and a good stopwatch , chronometre or a good watch will greatly assist. A calculator will likewise be very helpful to fight the serpents but also for the first two events. Other tan a stop at the Auberge for lunch, two intermediate stops are planned to quell a team’s thirst.

Closing of registration must remain for July 31st. The CAMAS committee , by the way, has recently doubled with Sigbritt and Lennart Linden joining us as they now reside in S.France permanently . Needless to say that we are most happy to welcome them and their assistance with the organisation.

We hope for a crowded participation from the Northern clubs and perhaps even some Swiss might join the fun?

With kind regards and Camas greetings!

Heidi and Hans Wulfers

LATEST NEWSFLASH - Ferrari Pit Crew in Crisis

The Ferrari Formula One Team fired their entire pit crew yesterday.

The announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British Government's new "Work for the Dole" scheme to encourage the employment of young lads from Liverpool. The decision to hire them was brought on by a recent BBC documentary showing unemployed youths from Toxteth, a deprived area of Liverpool, were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high-tech equipment.

It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management: as most races are won and lost in the pits, Ferrari would have an advantage over every team.

However, Ferrari got more than they bargained for. At the crew's first practice session, not only was the Liverpudlian pit crew able to change the tyres in under 6 seconds but within 12 seconds they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the vehicle over to the McLaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of weed and some photos of David Coulthard's bird in the shower.

    From Coys in London

Coys have recently sold a one off collection of handbuilt 1:43rd scale models depicting every car that Sir Stirling Moss ever raced.

Coys once again held their Summer sale of Toys & Models, Automobilia and Classic Cars, to include Jaguar Legende at Chiswick House on the 3rd July.

Brian Bowden - The Sir Stirling Moss Racing Car Collection.

Brian Bowden is considered to be one of the premier builders of 1:43rd scale white metal, resin and alloy bodied models, having covered Formula One, Grand Prix, Performance Racing, Endurance cars, Luxury cars and Land & Waterspeed models. Having built models for most of his life, Brian has experience in all the major fields of model design and production and this is evident in the sheer wealth of detail available as well as the execution of the build of each car.

This one off collection of handbuilt and modified cars was started in 1998, to be run as a project in tandem with other modeling work that Brian was doing and commenced with the support and research assistance of Sir Stirling Moss. The collection of 120 models was sold as a single lot and covers all the cars Stirling raced to include various Jaguars, Mercedes, Coopers, Maseratis, Aston Martins, Vanwalls, Ferraris and Porsches as well as the more unusual marques such as Osca, Sunbeam, BRM, Connaught, Beart, Austin Healey and Scarab. A large number of the models are also effectively scratchbuilt one off's where Brian has had to rebuild the car from the start in order to get the perfect shape and look.

This sort of fine quality modelling seldom appears but when it does we are all its beneficiaries.

Sold for GB £7,300.00 (around US $13,350.00) to include 15% commission.

Mehmet just loves Italian sports cars, but today he has a slight problem. Which car shall he take out for a spin; the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, the Ferrari 355 GTS or the Maserati Ghibli? Well the sun is shining so I think ... I'll take the Ferrari. Ciao!!

I think he made the wrong choice. I'd have taken the Maserati with it's sophisticated looks and climate control, but then again I'm biased!

Which one should I drive today?

The Ferrari, the Maser or the Alfa?

Well I've narrowed it down to these two!

The 355 GTS or the Ghibli!

Well I think it's got to be the ...
