A fearsome snarl rips through the air as your new Maserati roars to life. Like the North African wind for which it's named, the Ghibli is undeniably hot and powerful. Sensuous curved lines punctuated with an aggressive grill and bold triple vents perfectly illustrate the car's unique marriage of elegance and sports car verve. Pulling out onto the road, you notice surrounding cars slow as you cruise down the street. Ubiquitous German luxury sedans become mere traffic in your presence — catching a glimpse of a Maserati is still a treat. And driving it ? Molto bene !

The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine (produced in collaboration with Ferrari) catapults you from 0 to 60 in a mere 4.7 seconds. Q4 all-wheel drive means you remain fully in control no matter what the driving conditions — even snow. There's nothing ordinary about a Maserati, but your particular car, in gorgeous Grigio Maratea, is one of 100 extraordinary vehicles built to mark the Italian car company's 100th anniversary. A centennial exclusive combination of premium exterior and interior options further sets you apart. Swiveled heads and open mouths accompany your arrival. Was it the aria emanating from the Bowers & Wilkins stereo or the symphony coming from the tailpipe that created the audience ? Either way, one thing is certain: Everyone loves an Italian accent.

MASERATI INTERNATIONAL CENTENNIAL GATHERING

"Ciao Enrico,

Thought you would like to see a few photos I took at this year's extraordinary 100th anniversary event.

It was well organised and I am sure the Maseratisti who took part enjoyed the experience.

Sorry you couldn't be there to join us, but I quite understand why you couldn't make it. I hope you have recovered from having to look after the grandchildren for two weeks !!

See you soon.

Saluti,

Marcello."

MASERATI SCRATCH MODELS

"Hi Enrico,

I'm sending you some photos of my new (from scratch, all of it) Maserati 150 GT Spyder 1/24 scale.

This Is a one-off, like the real car, but this is mine. I would love to have the 1/1 scale too !!!

I'm a Maserati fan and I have done the A6GCS Spyder by Fantuzzi and also the A6GCS Berlinetta by Pinin Farina ( both from scratch and also in 1/24 scale ).

Regarding the last two, I've sold some in kit form for assembly and I could do them. If you are interested, I can send to you more photos of the last two models. I have an OSCA Mt4, like the Mieres Panamericana, and I'm trying to do the GTZ 1600 too, this, I think will be completed in late 2014 or early 2015.

I don't only live from Maseratis. This is my never ending Ferrari 166 Touring MM 1/12 scale. I think, next year I will do something with this car. I began this car 8 years ago... I'm 52 plus now with three lovely daughters, and now they are in their twenties I have more time to do more models.

I have also made some Alfa Romeos and Aston Martins, all in 1/24 scale. Usually I make curbside models because ( I have very little time) I prefered to do a new model instead the full engine. From the modeller's point of view, the time needed to build the engine is almost the same as is needed to build another car.

Well, the kits of the A6 (Spyder and Berlinetta) are US $160 plus shipping with full of PE parts. The OSCA Mt4 is US $135 and PE for the wheels only, all the kits are full curbside and I require some time to complete them. Ready built models (from the kits) may be around US $400 plus the kit. One-off models... we could see, and need to discuss.

I have been building models since I was a child, Airfix 1/32 and so on. I have a lots of assembled kits (and a huge quantity of kits "senza armare", included four 1/8 Pocher kits, of course, three are Alfa Romeos). I love Italian cars (my grandfather was Italian, this is the origin of the sickness) and I like a lot the British cars too (the Gordini was a crazy choice). But I like the Art-decó cars like Delages or Talbots, very crazy cars, over all the Figoni-Falaschi cars. I.e., I like them all...

The book you are talking about, is the Chris Berschi book ? I know him. He and a partner wrote books about Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa, Porsche and others in Argentina. They have a lot of beautiful photos, and very interesting information.

Making models of these cars is my hobby, and making the kits and models is a part-time activity for me. I hope you like my models.

My best from Argentina,

Marcelo."
