1980 MASERATI MERAK SS

Chassis No: AM122/A*593*.

Engine No: AM.122A.593.

Right hand drive.

5-speed manual transmission.

2965cc V6. 3 double choke Weber 44DCNF carburettors.

It has the full set of Citroen hydraulic equipment (clutch, brakes, headlights), i.e. before the factory made the later SS cars with conventional equipment. All the hydraulics are in good working order.

Mileage: 84,000 km / 52,300 miles.

Exterior: Rosso Maserati; paintwork refurbished in 2009.

Interior: black leather with grey alcantara on top of the dashboard. Dark grey carpet, light grey headlining, all in good condition.

Major mechanical work undertaken includes:

Aug 2005: Stainless steel exhaust fitted. Bill McGrath - 72,000km (45,000 miles).

Feb 2008: front and rear suspension overhaul; hollow exhaust valves replaced with solid; new headlamps. Bill McGrath - 80,000km (50,000 miles).

Dec 2010: cylinder head repair, carburettor service, timing. Bill McGrath Limited - 84,000km (52,000 miles).

Tyres: Pirelli P4000 205/70 and 215/70 were fitted in February 2008 at 80,000km (50,000 miles).

The car is fitted with an immobilizer and a battery isolator.

I have owned the car since 2007 and known the car since a friend of mine bought it in 1999, during which time I know it has been well maintained and carefully driven and garaged. Bill McGrath Limited, the acknowledged Maserati experts, have known the car since the early 90s and have done a lot of the servicing on it.

The car has twice won in its class at the Maserati Club Concours.
