AN ARRAY OF CLASSIC MASERATI DEVOURED THE BENDS AT THE 11TH EDITION OF THE GRAND PRIX DE MONACO HISTORIQUE

15 May 2018 - 180 historic Grand Prix cars gathered in the Principality of Monaco over the weekend, to bring the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique to life. Amongst them were 19 Maserati cars ranging from the 1957 Formula 1 winner 250F to the iconic 300S and the very rare 6CM and V8RI took part in the 2018 edition of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.

For the 11th edition of this prestigious event pre-war cars were brought back by popular demand to compete in the A-series, which became the unmissable world meeting for this category of Grand Prix cars, which were called “Formula 1” as soon as World War II ended. Two Maserati cars were entered in this category, and the 6CM driven by Anthony Sinopoli managed a well-deserved third place. Only 13 Maserati 6CM remain in existence out of the 27 produced: they feature an advanced front suspension system which allows springs to be adapted to different circuits.

The B-Series race saw the participation of Julia De Baldanza, one of only two female drivers in the competition, racing her beloved 1952 Maserati A6GCM together with four Maserati 250F.

Out of the 34 cars entered in the C-Series race, 12 were Maserati cars: five were 300S, six A6GCS and one 200SI. A 1956 Lister with a Maserati engine driven by Ben Short managed to get on the podium with a well-earned second place.

But the presence of Maserati wasn't just confined to the racetrack. The Trident Marque has in fact recently renewed its partnership agreement as the official car of the Yacht Club De Monaco and was present in the beautiful terrace of the amazing building, designed by Forster +Partners to be the symbolic centrepiece of Monaco’s remodelled harbour front. Guests and clients of the Maserati brand were thus able to enjoy the thrill and excitement of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and the stunning display, showcasing a 3500 GT Vignale Spyder and the iconic Maserati 250F.

MASERATI LAUNCHES FIRST UK TV ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN FOR LEVANTE SUV, WITH SKY ADSMART

10 May 2018 – Italian luxury automotive marque, Maserati, is launching its first national UK TV advertising campaign with Sky’s pioneering Sky AdSmart technology. Launched in 2014 Sky AdSmart allows advertisers the ability to target TV ad campaigns to specific audiences to ensure greater relevancy and impact.

Maserati Levante

By using Sky AdSmart, Maserati is set to showcase the iconic marque to a wider yet targeted bespoke audience of affluent individuals – specifically those who are interested in new, luxury cars. Maserati will use hyper-targeted, geo location advertising to introduce audiences of potential customers who live close to dealerships to the brand’s luxury SUV, Levante, which is priced from £56,690 OTR.

Offering the performance and comfortable grand tourer experience expected from a Maserati, whilst providing customers the practicality of an SUV, Levante is available with engaging and dynamic petrol engines, as well as the option of a more efficient diesel variant.

Much of the appeal and impact of this form of advertising comes down to the personalised and dynamic cinematic experience Maserati is able to deliver to audiences. Taking advantage of TV’s high impact and brand safe environment, the campaign will help bring the Levante SUV and Maserati brand to life.

Mike Biscoe, Maserati GB’s General Manager commented: “The five month national advertising campaign will allow Maserati to increase awareness of our SUV, Levante, to audiences who could be interested in owning one, but are not familiar with it. At the same time we hope it will help inform people’s understanding of Maserati as an exclusive but affordable luxury brand. Sky AdSmart is an efficient and intelligent way to achieve this, and we look forward to welcoming potentially new and existing customers into our Maserati showrooms across the UK, to try Levante for themselves.”

Graeme Hutcheson, Director of Digital and Sky AdSmart, Sky Media said: “We’re delighted to be working with Maserati on its first TV campaign in the UK. AdSmart is the perfect way for the brand to engage current and future customers using the loved, effective and trusted environment of TV in a highly targeted way.”

Maserati’s TV campaign, brokered by Starcom, launches on Thursday 10 May and runs until September 2018.

MASERATI ANNOUNCED AS OFFICIAL AUTOMOTIVE PARTNER TO HARLEQUINS

Maserati gives young Harlequins fan surprise of a lifetime

London, 4 May 2018 – Maserati GB has announced a new partnership with Harlequins, to become the official automotive partner of the historic London rugby club. The partnership brings together two performance-driven, iconic brands that share an entrepreneurial spirit, whilst being synonymous with style and heritage.

Maserati Official Automotive Partner to Harlequins

Maserati Official Automotive Partner to Harlequins

As well as offering the opportunity to bring the brand to life on match days at The Stoop, and at Twickenham for the ‘Big Game’, it will also provide the opportunity for Maserati and Harlequins to work together to curate an ongoing stream of exciting fan experiences.

This new rugby involvement builds upon Maserati’s other sporting ventures in polo, sailing and cycling and aligns with the marque’s ongoing expansion plans, entering into new segments and offering an ever greater luxury model range.

Commenting on the new partnership, Mike Biscoe, General Manager, Maserati GB : “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Harlequins. It is a hugely evocative club brand recognised across the globe, and one with extremely similar attributes to Maserati. We like to think differently too, so we look forward to seeing where our shared approach leads and having some fun whilst showcasing our range to the club and its fans.”

Ned Wills, Harlequins’ Commercial Director, said: “Maserati is a wonderful partnership for the Club because of our shared values and goals. At Harlequins we bring the spirit of innovation, ambition, passion and courage to everything we do. Like Maserati we have a strong heritage but are continuously looking to improve. This will be a great partnership with a lot of entertaining and exciting times ahead for both Harlequins and Maserati.”

Samuel’s Surprise

To launch the new partnership Maserati rewarded 12-year old Harlequins fan Samuel Freestone with the ultimate surprise in the form of a lift to the stadium with club internationals Joe Marler, Chris Robshaw and Alofa Alofa in a Maserati Levante S, the brand’s 430hp petrol engine SUV.

Samuel, who plays rugby himself for Battersea Ironsides, was chosen for the special end-of-season experience due to his own rugby commitments constantly getting in the way of supporting his beloved Harlequins in person at the weekends.

Samuel was bracing himself for a post-school dentist’s appointment, when instead the three Quins turned up to chauffeur him to The Stoop, the home ground of Harlequins.

There he was given a behind-the-scenes tour of The Stoop, had the chance to play on the pitch with his Harlequins heroes and was presented with a personalised Harlequins shirt and two tickets to the final home game of the 2017/18 season v Exeter on Saturday 5th May.

Maserati has unveiled a brand-new Personalization Area at Auto China 2018 to showcase its rich array of configurations for exterior and interior design. This area also displays MY18 models in the highly customized GranLusso and GranSport trims.

The Levante GranSport showcased on the stand fully embodies the racing heritage of every Maserati. It is immediately recognizable for its front grille, skid plates and roof rails in Piano Black, for the red brake callipers and the 20” Nereo wheels. 12-way power sport leather seats, power-adjustable Sport steering wheel, elongated gearshift paddles, carbon trims and Soft Close Doors are blended to create an exciting, sport-oriented interior.

The Quattroporte GranLusso redefines the concept of luxury. The elegantly restyled exterior has adopted a more imposing, Alfieri-shaped front grille, 20” Mercurio rims and black-painted brake callipers. Exclusive Ermenegildo Zegna Silk interiors with open-pore Radica wood trim and wood-finished leather steering wheel are combined with additional comfort equipment such as power foot pedals, power rear and rear side sun blinds, four-zone automatic climate control and heated rear passenger seats.

The Ghibli is another Maserati highlight in Beijing. The premium sports sedan that perfectly combines class topping performance and elegance. On show there is a 350hp Ghibli GranLusso and a 430hp Ghibli S Q4 GranSport, both equipped with the mighty 3.0 litre Twin Turbo V6 petrol engine.

The Personalization Area

This new area showcases numerous options including five distinctive wheels, the iconic grille with carbon fibre material, and a variety of seat and steering wheel designs exclusive to the GranLusso and GranSport trims, as well as rich exterior colours, numerous interior leather options, and Alcantara upholstery.

“Luxury brands have always been pioneers in automobile personalization and Maserati continues to focus on personalization for enhancing our customer experience”, said Alberto Cavaggioni, Managing Director of Maserati China.

“China has a growing number of ‘connoisseurs’ seeking to express their personalities and tastes through exclusive cars. Faced with increasing demands for more personalized options, Maserati stands out for its unique luxury and sports heritage, thanks to which it is capable to offer premium and exclusive options that genuinely satisfy the most discerning customers.”

With stylish designs of alloy wheels, brake callipers and steering wheels, the unmatched luxury and comfort of its full premium Italian leather and Zegna Silk interiors, the hand stitching, and the wood and carbon finishes, Maserati offers abundant configuration alternatives that exude luxury and sportiness.

Unique Options for Great Performance

Maserati provides various wheel options in different designs and in sizes varying from 18 to 21 inches. Five distinctive rim options are showcased at the personalization area including the elegant 21” Titano forged alloy wheels.

The brake callipers are offered in a variety of colour options, including black, red, yellow and blue. Maserati uses six-piston fixed alloy Brembo callipers which provide remarkable braking performance.

The Radica wood trim, the leather steering wheel with wood insert and the carbon fibre sport steering wheel respectively underline the luxury and sportiness of Maserati. In homage to its sports heritage, Maserati also offers the racing-inspired carbon package, as well as elongated gearshift paddles in polished aluminium.

The newly introduced Electric Power Steering (EPS) perfectly aligns to the car’s different driving modes, while ensuring improved comfort and a smooth, razor-sharp handling experience typical of every Maserati. EPS enables the Advanced Driving Assistance Systems package to work alongside active functions like Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Highway Assist, providing an extremely comfortable and safe driving experience.

Both Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans are fitted with the new, performance enhancing Integrated Vehicle Control system (IVC), developed by Bosch in collaboration with Maserati. IVC is capable to prevent rather than simply correct loss of control, providing enhanced active safety and better dynamics in terms of driving performance and driver satisfaction.

Tailor-made Luxury

Every Maserati is equipped with a powerful engine producing a uniquely sonorous sound. The optional Bowers & Wilkins Premium Surround Sound system is designed to provide an exhilarating auditory experience to the driver and passengers.

As for the interior, Maserati offers ventilated and power-adjustable seats in various premium Italian leather options, which further enhance the refinement and comfort of the cabin. Maserati is the only brand in the world to offer a tailor-made Ermenegildo Zegna Silk interior, which combines fine-grain leather with 100% natural-fibre Zegna mulberry silk, accomplishing extraordinary design and skilled craftsmanship.

Additionally, Maserati also offers a variety of exterior colours, including the high-end Tricoat and Mica paintwork. Instead of metal powder coating, the latter option uses mica plates, which reveal different hues and shades under different lighting conditions.

New York, 29 March 2018 – Maserati reveals the first Levante built around a V8 engine at the New York International Auto Show. It is the Levante Trofeo, the ultimate Maserati of SUVs, capable of accelerating in style from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and reaching a top speed of over 187 mph (>300 km/h).

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The Levante Trofeo is equipped with one of the most powerful engines ever fitted in a Maserati. A 3.8-litre Twin Turbo V8 engine that has been engineered to perfectly mate with the Q4 Intelligent All-Wheel Drive System and delivers an astounding 590 hp at 6,250 rpm and 538 lb.-ft. (730 Nm) of peak torque at 2,250 – 5,000 rpm.

The engine boasts the highest output per litre (156 hp/litre) of any Maserati powerplant ever produced and, like all Maserati petrol engines, is assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, Italy.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The chassis of the fastest Levante ever has been tuned to handle the higher power output and provides an exhilarating driving experience with no compromise in terms of comfort. This tuning ensures the Levante Trofeo continues to embody the essence of the Maserati GranTurismo philosophy with supercar performance.

“It’s proof that when you play with the elements you end up in a storm”, says Maserati CEO Tim Kuniskis. “In the case of Trofeo, the engineers and designers in Modena knew that the driveline parameters were more than able to cope with additional power and they also knew that Maserati had access to the finest engines on earth. So, they were up to the challenge of making the finest luxury SUV also one of the fastest.”

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The unmistakable Levante design has reached new levels of sportiness in this top of the line Trofeo. The elegant restyling was mainly focused on the lower front fascia and the rear bumper and is underlined by the 22-inch forged aluminium “Orione” wheels – the largest ever fitted on a Maserati – available in both polished and matte finishes.

The side air intakes in the lower fascia feature a new, more aggressive design, defined by two aerodynamic wings that give a sense of further stability, visually “pushing” the weight of the car’s nose towards the massive front wheels. And to help improve the airflow distribution, Trofeo is outfitted with carbon fibre side bezel blades and a carbon fibre splitter.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The rear end also looks wider and more muscular with a sharper carbon fibre horizontal element and body-colour lower extractor that embrace the oval quad exhaust tips.

In front, the Levante Trofeo has Full Matrix LED headlights, a front grille with double vertical bars in a piano black finish and lower honeycomb mesh fascia, as well as body colour door handles, oval exhaust tips in a dark finish and performance painted brake calipers in red, blue, black, silver or yellow. And to cap it off, specific “Saetta” Trofeo logos adorn the iconic c-pillars of the coupé styled SUV.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Specific details, like the lower splitter, the blade side bezels in the front air intakes, the side skirt inserts and the rear extractor are made of ultralight, high-gloss carbon fibre, giving the Levante Trofeo a polished racing look. Even the bonnet is new, featuring two aggressive vents for better cylinder head cooling. And under the bonnet, the engine cover is also made of high-gloss carbon fibre featuring a V8 inscription and the iconic Trident logo, while cylinder heads and intake manifolds are painted red.

Interior designers have come up with elegant ways to create a distinctive environment within the Levante Trofeo cabin. The sculpted sport seats feature a premium full-grain “Pieno Fiore” natural leather available in black, red and tan, all with contrast stitching and “Trofeo” logo stitched on the headrests. “Pieno Fiore” is like no other leather used in the automotive industry for its natural, soft feel and for the unique character it develops throughout the years.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

A new matte carbon fibre trim and paddle shifters, specific instrument cluster graphics, floor mats with metal Trofeo badges and a Maserati clock with a unique dial elegantly underline the exclusive sporty character of this extraordinary Levante, which is outfitted with a standard 1,280-watt, 17-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium surround sound audio system for exceptional listening enjoyment.

The production of the Levante Trofeo starts this summer at the refurbished Maserati plant in Mirafiori (Turin), Italy. The fastest Levante in Maserati history is initially intended for overseas export markets, including the U.S. and Canada.

Power under control

Maserati engineers developed the mighty 3.8-litre Twin Turbo V8 engine to accommodate the Q4 Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, providing it with a new crankcase design, specific crankshaft assembly, new oil pump and auxiliary belt and a different wiring layout.

New turbochargers feature increased flow, while redesigned cylinder heads with specific camshafts and valves, different pistons and new connecting rods allow the ability to reach the maximum power targets in combination with specific engine calibration mapping.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The Levante Trofeo is one of the fastest SUVs ever built with a top speed of over 187 mph (>300 km/h). Thanks to its remarkable weight/power ratio of 8.1 lbs./hp (3.6 kg/hp) the Trofeo needs only 3.7 seconds to reach 60 mph (3.9 seconds for 0-100 km/h) and only 113 feet (34.5 metres) of braking distance to get back to a complete stop.

The ideal 50:50 weight balance and the low centre of gravity - common to all Levante models - in combination with the finely tuned double-wishbone front / Multi Link rear suspension and the larger tyres fitted to the 22-inch forged aluminium wheels, provides the new Trofeo with remarkably balanced handling and lateral stability.

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

Maserati Levante Trofeo 2018

The new “Corsa" Driving mode with Launch Control functionality in addition to the existing Normal, I.C.E., Sport and Off Road modes has been adopted to enhance the athletic character of the ultimate Maserati SUV. “Corsa” driving mode further improves engine response and opens exhaust valves in acceleration, as well as provides faster gear shifting, lower air suspension height levels, sportier Skyhook damping and optimized Q4 Intelligent All-Wheel Drive settings and interacts with Traction Control and ESP systems to maximize driving pleasure.

The Maserati Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) system has been incorporated for the first time in a Levante, for impressive driving dynamics, better performance and a genuine Maserati driving experience, by helping to prevent vehicle instability, instead of correcting “driver mistakes” as a traditional Electronic Stability Program (ESP) system does.

MASERATI CHOOSES 88TH GENEVA MOTOR SHOW FOR EUROPEAN PREMIERE OF
GHIBLI, QUATTROPORTE AND LEVANTE NERISSIMO EDITION

The Nerissimo Edition - available for Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante - is a key focal point of the Maserati stand.

The entire 2018 range will be on display in a variety of trims.

The Ghibli and Quattroporte feature Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC): this prevents rather than corrects car instability, ensuring greater active safety, better driving dynamics, and more exciting performance.

“Officine Maserati” – the new brand dedicated to Maserati’s Certified Pre-Owned programme.

Modena, 5 March 2018 – Maserati unveils the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante in captivating “total black” at the 88th Geneva Motor Show. Black is synonymous with elegance, but also with extreme sportiness, so it perfectly captures the dual personality inherent in the Maserati DNA. From this concept, Nerissimo was born - a special edition of Maserati cars that emphasises their assertive sporting prowess and high-performance capabilities.

Designed for the Ghibli, Quattroporte and Levante - and available in GranSport trims - the Nerissimo Edition envelops each car in black. The exteriors of the three cars stand out thanks to seductive, deep black body paint. This is combined with a contrasting Black Chrome trim on the upper part of the grille frame and the Trident, the side air vents, the boot, and the iconic Maserati badging on the C-pillars and at the rear. The grille bars, door handles, exhaust tips and window trim, meanwhile, are in an exclusive black finish.

For the Ghibli and Quattroporte, a dark finish on the LED headlights and a choice of either 20” Urano or 21” Titano alloy wheels – both in glossy black – complete the picture. The Levante offers additional features such as front and rear underbody protection and black fog light rings. It is available with a choice of 20” Nereo, 20” Efesto or 21” Anteo alloy wheels – all in dark finishes.

As for the interior, the Ghibli sports sedan is fitted out with heated front and rear Sport seats, a heated sport steering wheel and Dark Mirror interior finishing - although Black Piano and Carbon fibre trims are also available. Tinted windows and a power rear sunblind are additional features. The flagship Quattroporte executive sedan can be finished in either Black Piano or Carbon fibre trims. It is equipped with tinted windows and a rear-view camera with dynamic gridlines, and also adds the practicality of a power boot lid, the HomeLink system and Keyless Entry extended to include the rear doors. The Levante SUV features heated front and rear Sport seats, four-zone automatic climate control, power foot pedals and the Easy Entry system.

Other models on show in Geneva

The Marque of the Trident’s other models will also be present in Geneva in a variety of trims and colours. This includes a Ghibli S Q4 GranLusso Bianco Alpi with 20” Urano Diamond wheels, polished aluminium brake calipers, a luxuriously elegant Ermenegildo Zegna silk interior with red leather, 100% natural fibre Mulberry silk inserts and a high-quality Ebony trim. The Quattroporte S Q4 GranLusso is presented in Blu Passione, with 21” Titano wheels and black brake calipers. The exquisite beige leather interior with wooden inserts perfectly matches the exterior, and the two rear seats ensure maximum comfort for executive use. The sports cars are represented by the GranCabrio MC. Painted in Bianco Birdcage, the cabriolet features 20” wheels, black brake calipers, a leather and Alcantara interior, and contrasting white stitching that embellishes the passenger compartment. The carbon detail also reinforces the car’s strong racing look.

The range

The 2018 Maserati range has been thoroughly overhauled. All five models, including the GranTurismo and GranCabrio, have been significantly restyled, with new features also added.

In line with the new range strategy, the most significant updates for the Ghibli and Levante MY18 relate to the introduction of the GranLusso and GranSport trims, which initially were only available with the Quattroporte. The GranLusso is an expression of exclusive, refined luxury – made clear with the Ermenegildo Zegna silk or fine-grain stretched leather interiors – while the GranSport was designed to add an extra sporting dimension to the car.

The Ghibli is the highest-selling car in Maserati history, with over 84,200 models delivered since 2013. The MY18 has Adaptive full LED Matrix headlights with “Glare Free” technology, developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting. The Quattroporte MY18 has also introduced Adaptive full LED headlights on all trims, with standard L-shape “Glare Free” technology that provides longer-lasting, more natural light with substantially improved visibility compared to Bi-Xenon technology.

A particular highlight from among the important technical innovations is Electric Power Steering (EPS). This facilitates the active functions of the new Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include Highway Assist (HAS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Active Blind Spot Assist (ABSA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR). EPS has replaced hydraulic steering on the two Maserati sedans and on the Levante, improving the cars’ handling and comfort, while maintaining the excellent manoeuvrability typical of every Maserati.

There is no end in sight for the success of the Quattroporte, with the MY18 once again confirming its place at the apex of the flagship sedan segment.

Adaptive full LED headlights are another stand-out feature of Levante. An additional element characterizes this model to provide the best customization and exclusivity options. The Maserati Genuine Accessories range introduces for the very first time an exclusively designed 21-inch wheel rim Eracle. It will be available from March in matt grey colour with diamond trim that enriches the captivating design.

The GranTurismo and GranCabrio MY18 have been the subject of an elegant restyling that has improved their aerodynamics, while the upgrading of their interiors includes the introduction of a brand-new driver interface and a comprehensive infotainment system.

At a global level, 51,500 cars were delivered in 2017. Maserati is present in 77 markets, the largest of which is China. followed by North America.

Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC)

The Ghibli and Quattroporte contain a more powerful 3.0-litre V6 engine and also make use of the new IVC system developed by Bosch in collaboration with Maserati. This important technical development prevents - rather than merely correcting - vehicle instability, ensuring greater active safety, better driving dynamics, and more exciting performance.

IVC forms part of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software that brings aerospace technology to the road. It uses an effective feed-forward control system that anticipates driving conditions, then adjusts the braking system and engine in advance. The system operates more regularly and smoothly than the traditional ESP, allowing the car to be better balanced and improving traction in extreme conditions. It also uses smart torque vectoring to optimise lateral dynamics naturally, even when the ESP is disabled.

“Officine Maserati” – the new brand dedicated to Certified Pre-Owned programme by Maserati

The “Officine Maserati” Certified Pre-Owned programme will be launched across the globe in 2018, guaranteeing maximum safety for anyone who buys a previously registered Maserati.

To qualify for “Officine Maserati” status, each car must pass a rigorous 121-point testing process. The programme also includes unlimited mileage and roadside assistance. The initiative involves the Maserati network more closely in its activities by allowing authorised dealers to enhance the fleet of Maserati cars available, offering a wider range of services and increasing customer loyalty.
